Stephen serves FBC as pastor by being a student of the Bible, preparing for and delivering expository sermons every Sunday, teaching both large and small group Bible studies, devotions, and discipleship classes, leading the church’s weekly prayer meeting, serving as the church’s lead administrator, and ministering to members of the FBC family and the community through Biblical Counseling. His life’s ambition is to be used by God to joyfully, passionately, and faithfully proclaim the glory of God through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to be a joyful, passionate and faithful disciple of Jesus who makes other disciples, who make even more disciples.
Originally from Dyersburg, TN., Stephen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has also written numerous articles on Christianity, the church,and culture for national publications, is the Co-Host of Biblical Thinking, and has previously served as an instructor of Systematic Theology. A lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan, Stephen enjoys all kinds of outdoor and sports activities as well reading, writing, and talking and laughing with people long after a meal is over or the coffee has run out. He and his wife/best friend, Christi, live in Fulton with their son, Charlie and daughter, Piper.
